A comprehensive guide to some of the best sales this weekend + what we think is worth it

We just got back from a trip to Athens, Ohio. Random place for a trip, but when you are an Ohio University alumni, it makes sense. I have been in such a creative rut lately. I was hoping returning back to the place where I did all of my passive aggressive blogging (via LiveJournal),AIM away messages and Facebook photo album titles would help inspire me. It helped a little.

Britt, Missy and I all went to OU. Britt brought her cat, Meow Meow, who she got from a friend our senior year of college. Britt and I (and three other girls!) lived in this house our senior year with Meow. Meow is still living - 18 years old - so we brought her down for some senior photo shoots. It is wild that it has been 18 years since we have lived there - I still don’t feel that old!

I do not have any plans for this Memorial Day weekend, but I will try to get a lot of things around the house. Rebecca’s last week of school is next week, and I am so excited. We had a fantastic summer last year, and I cannot wait to spend more time with her. I just have to make it through volunteering at Field Day and then another day at Junior Achievement BizTown—and we are free! We are headed down to Emerald Isle, North Carolina for a beach vacation with my family - the same family we went to Myrtle Beach with last year.

Weekend Sales Guide

There are a few ways you can shop some of our favorite sales: this blog post (rounds up everything), our Instagram sale highlights, or this email, where I will round up our top ten picks, after updating for things that have already sold out.

1. Rothy’s clogs. Rarely on sale except for in the fall, which makes them a top pick for me. I have the buckle and cozy clogs and just bought the hemp clogs for summer. I love these clogs and wear them all the time. Are they the cutest? No, but they are the most supportive. I have walked miles in them and they are still going strong - and they can be washed.

2. Evelyn & Bobbie bras. 20% off this weekend. I have never tried a wireless bra that actually provides lift and support for me (44C, but technically could be a B) and Missy (36 DDD). And they even help with your posture. When you first put it on you will be like, what the hell? This is too tight, but after it learns your body - it is like you are not even wearing anything. If you have a problem with bras rolling up at the bottom, I would say these still are not for you and stick to wired bras. Check out Missy’s reel here for more.

3. Hulken - 15% off - I have the large and medium size and use ALL the time . I thought they were more for city dwellers, but they are great for quick overnights or weekend trips because they are on wheels. And they hold SO much. This is something I have influenced MANY people IRL to buy after they see mine. Plus they fold up flat for storage!

4. Dermstore sale (sponsored mention)¹ I link to their Memorial Day sale every year because there are several holy grail items I buy during the sale. Like the Bioeffect Growth Factor serum that has been one of the best things for my skin, the Dr Dennis Gross Peel pads, and my favorite cleanser.

5. Favorite bodycare on sale list. Luxe bodycare is one of my favorite splurges because it has really helped my skin look so much better - even with losing weight. I also LOVE a body wash that makes me look forward to my morning shower.

6. Earlybird - 20% off our favorite CBD supplement that helps relax! It does contain a microdose of THC that is legal because it is derived from hemp. I recently gave a bottle of the tonic to a friend and she is obsessed with it. She has even been able to cut down on her trazodone and melatonin usage because of it.

7. Swimsuit - I talked about this swimsuit in my January favorite things round up, but Show Me Your Mumu is having an extra 30% off sale, and there are a lot of great suits available in regular and plus size.

9. Target- 40% off sandals and I love these. They have sold out of many sizes in black and white, but still have quite a few of the tan. They really brought it this year for their sandal game - LOTS of designer inspired looks.

   1. Also, don't miss my favorite basic tee 4 years running. They have a new cream/black striped colorway and I LOVE it. True to size for me. Don't let the cropped in the name fool you - it is still long enough not to show skin.

10. Boden - 25% off sitewide. They rarely have sales like this. It only goes up to size 20/22 (and they usually run small), but they have bathing suits in long torso! And their suits are so cute!! I linked the ones that worked for me. Plus some cute finds.

Honorable mention to Brooklinen because their sheet sets are 50% off - you get a duvet, sheets, and pillowcases. We still have and love the duvet we bought 6 years ago - and it is SO soft. Brooklinen - 25% off - The first set of expensive sheets I bought were Brooklinen, which is 50% off if you buy the set. I mainly buy their Duvets now because I love how well our sateen duvet has lasted (6 years!) and is so soft now. They have so many new colors and patterns . I have also had my eye on this gauzey quilt.
